The people of Kasterlee have been sharing stories and sagas about gnomes. Today, Gnome Mound (Kabouterberg) on the Kempen ridge is a unique project for children between the ages of 3 and 7. It is a wooded area with sand and dune ridges, where children can climb, crawl, and play in the sand to their hearts’ content.

Gnome storytellers accompany you on walks on Gnome Mound. A fun idea for a group outing, a family get-together or a birthday party. There are storytelling sessions for individual visitors as well, at regular intervals.

You can also explore Gnome Mound using your smartphone, with ‘The great gnome trek’. Fun little clips show you how the gnomes came to settle in Kasterlee, who fell in love with whom, how the wedding was organized, …
