February 2012 saw the opening of the Provincial Heritage Centre in Ename. At the heritage centre you can get to know East Flemish heritage, and discover the efforts made by the province for the conservation and preservation of heritage. You can take a peek behind the scenes of the heritage depot, reminisce in the heritage foyer with the ‘Invasif’ installation by artist Ben Banaouisse and enjoy a magnificent view of the archaeological abbey site and the Scheldt river landscape.
